MAYBELLINE Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation ReviewSunday, October 02, 2016
I saw the post of MaybellinePH about the 25% OFF of their two dream foundation: Dream Satin (normal to dry skin) and Dream Velvet (normal to oily skin). I bought the Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation out of curiosity. It claims that it has matte finish but still hydrates your skin. Hmmmm, you are curious too right?
So let's start...
Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation comes in five shades: Nude, Sandy Beige, Natural Beige, Pure Beige and Hone Beige. I got the shade Sandy Beige which is really perfect to my skin like other morena/pinay girls out there.
The product has a creamy mixture and leaves a powder finish after you apply it. Just remember to blend it well quickly as it sets in your face fast. This will give you light to medium coverage only. If you add more to your face, it will not look natural. After I put 2 layers, I can still see my veins below my cheeks and some dry patches around my lips. Concealer is a must if you have skin imperfections like me.
Longevity-wise and you have oily skin, this foundation is not for you. If you insist, then prepare a blotting paper, hahaha!
The packaging is so travel friendly! It comes in a nude squeeze tube with a cap. You can carry this everywhere you go because it will not consume a lot of space in your bag.
+ Travel friendly
+ No smell
+ Enough variety of shades (warm to cool tones)
+ Light to medium
- Can't conceal some imperfections
- Emphasize dry patches
- Poor oil control
So here are the looks that I used this foundation:
